Kirkhill resident and former Cub Scout Leader Grant Andrews is part of a team aiming to raise £10,000 for the Highland Hospice this summer. Their goal is to cycle from Lands End and John O’ Groats in 10 days. Grant, who admits to being the wrong side of 50, has been training since Christmas and with the June 18th start date rapidly approaching will be an increasingly common site on the roads as he puts in the miles to be able to cover 90-100 miles a day. The team have already received sponsorship from several local businesses and recently held a successful fund raising gig at the Ironworks. To reach the £10,000 target Grant would welcome donations or sponsorship from Kirkhill residents. There are several ways of doing this. You can visit the teams website
where you will find details of how to donate on line or via post – as well as more details on the ride. Grant will also be at the April and May Village markets if you want to find out more or donate in person. If they exceed the £10,000 target then they will support other local charities as well.
